Hypnotherapy for fear of public speaking
Your fear of talking in front of people is stopping you from moving in the direction you want to go. You have to give talks at work, or present in meetings. Maybe you’ve had a promotion, or want a promotion, that’s going to mean even more of it. You know you can do the job, but you can’t bear the though of having to do all that talking in front of people.
Why am I so scared of public speaking?
This is a classic example of your brain making a simple error of judgement. For whatever reason – usually the judgement will have been formed unconsciously at some point when you were younger – your brain has decided that speaking in front of people is a risky business. And so, because it has your best interests as its foremost concern, your brain will do anything to ensure that you don’t have to go through that experience – or anything that might even be a bit like that experience. It wants to keep you safe. It’s not possible to simply over-ride our deeply held and often unconscious ideas about the world, just by consciously deciding to. You telling yourself ‘it’s fine’ isn’t going to work any more than someone else telling you to ‘get over it’. We have to get your unconscious onside, give it a different set of ideas about what it can be like to speak in public. And we can do that very successfully with the use of hypnotherapy.
How can hypnotherapy help me speak in public?
Cognitive hypnotherapy is a really good, effective way to let go of that fear. And not only can we release the fear, we can actually find ways to make you feel more comfortable and more confident than you could have imagined. Don’t let this fear hold you back… just imagine what you could achieve without it.
